About this scholarship
The Gamma Iota Chapter-Kimberly Kahmer Scholarship is named in memory of Kimberly Kahmer (Gamma Iota 1998/York). About Kimberly Kahmer
After graduating high school, Kimberly Kahmer attended York College of Pennsylvania and earned a degree in business. While in college, she joined Alpha Sigma Tau and the swim team. A passionate swimmer, Kimberly often worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor during high school and college.
Several weeks after graduating from York College and at the age of 23, Kimberly Kahmer was diagnosed with stomach cancer. Despite having been diagnosed with cancer and given just four-to-eight months to live, Kimberly continued to live life to the fullest. She used her time to speak candidly with high school students about what it was like to have cancer and enrich the lives of others who also were battling cancer.
Kim's legacy in the world continues to live on through the impact made with this scholarship.
